Suoxiyu Nature Reserve
The west of Suoxiyu Scenic Area is connected with Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, its north is adjacent to Tianzi Mountain, wit a total area of 160km2. Suoxiyu is also named as Suoxi and named due to the courant water like the rope, with unique geological landform and rich wildlife resources. Its characteristics of “strange mountain, beautiful water, steepy bridge anddeep and serene caves” make Suoxiyu to become a bright pearl in Wulingyuan Scenic Zone.
Suoxiyu’s mountains are different in the shape. Its strange terrain was formed due to Indian Plate moved northward, earth's crust arched, cut and eroded by flowing water for aeon. Thousands of strange peak shake are realistic and vivid. The biocoenosis columnar quartz sandstone peak forest landform in Suoxiyu is still rare both at home and abroad.
The mountain in Suoxiyu is beautiful, but its water is more beautiful, you can see the flowing spring and waterfall everywhere, sometimes you can hear the plink of the courant water. A lot of streamlet from 6 valleys and 19 gullies are collected into Suoxi via 7 affluent streams of Ganxi, Wangjiaxi, Chaxi, Dongjiaxi, Baihuxi, Shijiaxi and Heicaoxi, run through the entire Scenic Area, finally, flow eastward into the Lishui River.
Main sight spots in Scenic Zone: West Sea, Long Gallery, Water Around Four Gates, High Gorge, Baofeng Lake Huanglong Cave, form 3 landscapes of underground, ground and high mountain.
